Solar Sister is a social NGO enterprise that operates in Africa. Its main purpose is to invest in women´s entrepreneurship. Solar Sister provides economic opportunity, training, technology, and support. Its members distribute clean energy to under-served African regions. From 2008, it employed over 4000 entrepreneurs and reached 1.5 Million people.

Solar Sister es una empresa social que opera en África. Su principal objetivo es invertir en el espíritu empresarial de las mujeres. Solar Sister brinda oportunidades económicas, capacitación, tecnología y apoyo. Sus miembros distribuyen energía limpia a las regiones africanas desatendidas. Desde 2008, empleó a más de 4000 empresarios y llegó a 1,5 millones de personas.

Social urban entrepreneurship could be an answer to the growing social needs and could balance them by means of social services. And that is why we believe that a Social Incubator is a model that can work in Peru, as it does in many other places in the world that face the same problems. And we want to do this by fostering social entrepreneurship and social business development through coaching, consultancy services, and affordable workspace aiming to maximize the business potential of Peruvian social entrepreneurs.

El emprendimiento social urbano podría ser una respuesta a las crecientes necesidades sociales y equilibrarlas mediante los servicios sociales. Y es por eso que creemos que una Incubadora Social es un modelo que puede funcionar en el Perú, como lo hace en muchos otros lugares del mundo que enfrentan los mismos problemas. Y queremos hacerlo fomentando el emprendimiento social y el desarrollo de negocios sociales a través de coaching, servicios de consultoría y un espacio de trabajo asequible con el objetivo de maximizar el potencial comercial de los emprendedores sociales peruanos.
